Job Summary
The Operations Director is responsible for managing and improving all aspects of the company’s manufacturing operations. This includes production, maintenance, quality, safety, and supply chain. The main goal is to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations while supporting company growth.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead daily plant operations and ensure production targets are met.
- Oversee departments such as production, engineering, maintenance, and logistics.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure high product quality and on-time delivery.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Develop budgets and control operational costs.
- Support new projects and capacity expansions.
- Work closely with department heads to drive teamwork and problem-solving.
- Develop team capabilities through coaching and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in the steel or building materials industry, especially galvanized steel.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, VSM).
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
