Site Engineer Civil – OHTL, KSA
Experienced Site Engineer (Civil Execution) with proven experience in 380kV Transmission Line Projects, preferably with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)/National Grid SA projects. Responsible for supervising and executing civil construction activities related to overhead transmission lines, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, SEC standards, quality requirements, safety regulations, and project schedules.
The role involves managing tower foundation works, excavation activities, access roads, subcontractors, inspections, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute all civil construction activities associated with 220kV/380kV overhead transmission line projects.
- Manage site activities related to:
- Survey coordination and tower spotting.
- Excavation and backfilling work.
- Tower foundations and concrete works.
- Stub setting and reinforcement installation.
- Chimney and pad foundations.
- Access roads and temporary construction facilities.
- Earthing-related civil works.
- Ensure all civil work is executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, SEC standards, project specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with survey teams, geotechnical engineers, QA/QC personnel, HSE staff, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Monitor daily construction progress against approved schedules and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Ensure availability and effective utilization of manpower, construction equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources.
- Supervise foundation excavation, soil stabilization, dewatering activities, and foundation concreting works.
- Verify foundation dimensions, reinforcement installation, anchor bolt positioning, and concrete quality before inspections.
- Coordinate and facilitate inspections, RFIs, WIRs, and obtain client approvals for completed activities.
- Monitor concrete testing activities, cube tests, foundation backfilling, and compaction requirements.
- Identify site constraints, right-of-way issues, and construction challenges, and coordinate solutions with project management.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and site records.
- Ensure proper implementation of QA/QC procedures throughout construction activities.
- Enforce project HSE requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with the electrical construction team for tower erection, conductor stringing, and project interface requirements.
- Support project handover documentation and final completion activities.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in transmission line construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in 220kV/380kV OHTL projects.
- Mandatory experience in transmission line foundation construction and civil execution activities.
- Experience in SEC/National Grid SA projects is highly preferred.
- EPC project experience within Saudi Arabia is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of transmission line civil construction practices.
- Experience in tower foundation construction, excavation, concreting, and access road development.
- Familiarity with SEC standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of soil investigation reports and foundation drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements, and project documentation.
- SEC/Client-approved candidates will be given preference.
- Immediate joiners and candidates with transferable Iqama are highly preferred.
