Site Engineer Civil – Substation, KSA

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and execute all civil construction activities associated with 380kV GIS substation projects.
2. Manage site activities including:
• Earthworks and grading.
• Equipment foundations.
• GIS building construction.
• Control buildings.
• Cable trenches and duct banks.
• Boundary walls.
• Internal roads and paving works.
• Drainage and stormwater systems.
3. Ensure all civil work is executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, SEC standards, project specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.
4. Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC engineers, HSE personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
5. Monitor daily progress against the approved construction schedule and recommend corrective actions where required.
6. Ensure proper deployment of manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve construction targets.
7. Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
8. Coordinate inspections, RFIs, MIRs, WIRs, and obtain client approvals for completed works.
9. Verify quantities executed at site and support project controls in progress measurement and billing activities.
10. Monitor concrete works, reinforcement installation, excavation activities, and structural construction to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
11. Support testing and handover activities for civil works.
12. Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures throughout construction activities.
13. Enforce project HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture on site.
14. Identify site constraints, technical issues, and construction risks and implement corrective actions in coordination with project management.
15. Coordinate closely with electrical and mechanical construction teams to ensure smooth interface management and project execution.

Requirements
Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in substation civil construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in 230kV/380kV GIS Substation Projects.
• Mandatory experience on Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) / National Grid SA projects.
• Experience in EPC power transmission and distribution projects within Saudi Arabia.
• SEC/Client-approved candidates will be given preference.
• Strong track record in safely delivering substation civil works within quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Immediate joiners and candidates with transferable Iqama are highly preferred.
