Microsoft Dynamics AX Developer
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics AX Developer to join their internal IT team and support the implementation, customization, and maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and business users to understand operational requirements, develop system enhancements, and provide technical support for the Dynamics AX environment. This role is part of a larger IT delivery team consisting of ERP, Infrastructure, Application Development, PMO, and Data & Analytics functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technical and Functional Leads to gather business requirements and define system enhancements.
- Develop, customize, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 solutions using X++.
- Perform coding, unit testing, and prepare technical documentation for system customizations.
- Provide technical support and escalation assistance for Dynamics AX-related issues.
- Work with external vendors to diagnose, test, and deploy system enhancements and fixes.
- Provide functional guidance and technical training to internal users and team members.
- Manage change requests, documentation, and change control processes.
- Support technical migrations, upgrades, and maintenance of Dynamics AX and the underlying Microsoft technology stack.
- Assist in documenting business processes, preparing user manuals, and conducting end-user training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing Microsoft Dynamics AX solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- X++
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 customization
- SQL Server
- SQL
- .NET Framework
- SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
- SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services)
- SharePoint
- Good understanding of Dynamics AX data structures, entities, and data models.
- Functional knowledge of at least two Dynamics AX modules.
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics CRM is an advantage.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX technical certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Experience documenting business processes, creating user manuals, and delivering end-user training.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
