Job Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Reports to: Board of Directors
Job Overview:

We are looking for a visionary leader who understands the “physics of the factory.” The ideal candidate transitioned from a high-level engineering or material science background into a strategic leadership role. They should have experience in industries like aerospace, automotive, wind energy, or high-end sporting goods.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Material Innovation: Overseeing the development and testing of new resin systems, fiber reinforcements (carbon, glass, aramid), and sandwich structures.
  • Process Engineering: Optimizing manufacturing techniques such as Autoclave, RTM (Resin Transfer Molding), VARTM, or Automated Fiber Placement (AFP).
  • Digital Transformation: Implementing Industry 4.0 solutions, including digital twins, real-time sensor monitoring, and AI-driven quality control.
  • Sustainability: Driving the adoption of bio-based resins and developing recycling/circularity strategies for composite waste.

Qualification & Experience:
1) Key Competencies:

  • Material Science Mastery: Deep knowledge of polymer chemistry and structural mechanics.
  • Operational Scaling: Experience moving from R&D prototypes to high-volume production.
  • Supply Chain Tech: Ability to vet and integrate new hardware/software vendors.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 (Aerospace), or IATF 16949 (Automotive).

2) Cultural Fit & Soft Skills

  • Safety First: A relentless commitment to chemical safety and structural integrity standards.
  • The “Builder” Mindset: Proven track record of scaling production lines rather than just maintaining them.
  • Cross-Functional Translator: Ability to explain complex chemical properties to investors and production bottlenecks to the Board.
  • Pragmatic Innovator: Someone who doesn’t just chase “cool tech” but focuses on ROI and production yield.

3) Must Have:

  • Education: Master’s or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years in manufacturing industries (especially in composite and related fields), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Track Record: Proven success in reducing cycle times or material scrap rates in a production environment.
