Job Title: Technical Services Manager
Job Location: On-Site (Sampala)
Work Roster: 6 Weeks ON + 2 Weeks OFF
Job Overview:
The Technical Services Manager is responsible for providing technical planning, engineering governance, and decision support to mine operations. The role ensures that mine plans, designs, schedules, and technical studies are aligned with operational targets, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
Scope of Work:
- Policies & Procedures
- Develop and compile procedures related to Technical Service policies.
- Create procedures, planning, and development of the company’s mining operations.
- Technical Planning Governance
- Lead mine planning, scheduling, and technical review of short, medium, and long-term plans including coordinating rehabilitation areas with Environmental department.
- Review and endorse technical designs, DED, BoQ, and engineering documents prior to management approval.
- Maintain and update technical risk registers (geotechnical, hydrology, mine planning).
- Ensure consistency between approved designs, execution plans, and actual field conditions
- DSTF Planning Support & Coordination
- Act as the technical interface between Operations and the DSTF locations for planning-related matters.
- Contractor & Commercial Technical Support
- Support technical evaluation of contractor proposals, BoQ, and planning assumptions.
- Provide technical justification for scope changes, variations, and planning-related claims.
- Ensure technical inputs support fair, accurate, and defensible commercial decisions.
- Data, Reporting & Management Support
- Oversee technical data integrity and reporting for planning and engineering outputs including monitoring contractor performance with mine operations team
- Prepare and review technical reports, presentations, and decision papers for management and COO reviews.
- Provide technical input to budgeting, forecasting, and life-of-mine planning
- Occupational Health and Safety:
- Ensure all technical plans comply with K3, environmental regulations, RKAB, AMDAL, and company standards
- Embed safety-by-design and environmental considerations into all planning activities
- Environment:
- Direct and guide the team to carry out environmental cleanliness programs
- Guide and instill in the team concern for the environment and cleanliness
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 10-20 years in mining operations, technical services, or mine planning roles
- Have experiences in Mining company (experience in mine planning and tailings-related planning is highly desirable)
- Have POP & POM certifications are a plus.
