Power Supply (Substation) Electrical Engineer, Railway System
Position: Electrical Engineer Power Substation / Supervisor
Qualification: Graduation in Electrical Engineering/Power
Total Years of experience: 7 Years
Years of experience in Substation electrical works: 5 Years
Role: Supervising 150kV RSS & TSS installation and commissioning activities
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to define the scope, schedule, and technical requirements for the 150kV receiving substation installation (GIS), DC Switchgear, LV switchgear installations.
- Develop and execute detailed installation plans for all substation equipments, including power & distribution transformers, Gas Insulated switchgear, DC switchger, protection systems, and control panels.
- Co-ordination/ liasioning with PLN authorities for incoming 150kV power supply & 150kV cabling works.
- Supervise on-site installation activities, ensuring all electrical equipments are installed according to approved drawings, designs, and safety standards.
- Manage site teams and contractors, providing technical guidance and resolving any installation issues or challenges.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of electrical equipment on-site to prevent damage.
- Lead the testing and commissioning process for all substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, and protection systems.
- Perform functional checks and verify the correct operation of all electrical systems in the substation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure that all commissioning activities are completed according to the project timeline.
- Ensure that all installation work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to minimize potential hazards during installation and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, such as IEC, ANSI, IEEE, and other national and international electrical standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of installation progress, testing results, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and clients, highlighting key milestones, issues, and solutions.
- Ensure all required documentation, including as-built drawings, test certificates, and operation manuals, are completed and handed over to the client upon project completion.
- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases, troubleshooting issues related to electrical equipment or systems.
- Work closely with the design engineers, procurement team, and contractors to resolve any technical issues that arise during the installation process.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates on installation progress and issues.”
